Terms of Service for Next2Respond

By accessing or using Next2Respond ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Overview of the Service

Next2Respond connects individuals seeking volunteer opportunities with organizations looking for volunteers. The App allows:

• Individuals to create accounts and submit volunteer applications
• Organizations to manage applications, profiles, and outreach campaigns

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Next2Respond account. By using Next2Respond, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

This 13+ minimum applies to the platform account only. It is separate from - and does not override - the minimum age and any parental/guardian consent requirements set by the individual fire department you apply to volunteer with. Each department sets its own minimum volunteer age and consent requirements for its own program, shown on that department's public profile page and enforced on its application form.

Accounts and Authentication

Authentication is provided by Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Use the App for unlawful purposes
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Upload viruses or malicious code

Content Ownership and Responsibility

You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., applications, profiles, descriptions). By submitting content, you grant us a license to use, display, and share it as necessary to operate the App.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you provide. We are not responsible for content created by users.

Payments and Subscriptions

Departments pay a subscription to use Next2Respond. Current plans and prices are shown on our pricing page. Subscription fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

Free Trial

A new department account starts with a free 14-day trial. You do not need a credit card to start the trial. To keep full access after 14 days, choose a plan during the trial.

Paying by Card

Card payments go through Stripe Checkout, a payment page hosted by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. Stripe charges your card at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel. You can change your card, switch between monthly and annual billing, view invoices, or cancel in the billing portal.

Paying by Invoice or Check

If your department cannot pay by card, you can ask for an invoice from the Billing page or our contact page. We send an invoice for the plan you choose, and you can pay it by check or another method shown on the invoice. When we receive payment, your account has full access through the paid-through date that we record on your account.

Founding Department Price

The Founding Department plan is available to the first 10 departments that subscribe to it. Its annual price is locked: we will not increase it for as long as your subscription stays active without a break. If your founding subscription is canceled or ends without payment, the founding price ends, your slot can go to another department, and any new subscription is at the current Standard price.

When a Trial or Subscription Ends

If your trial ends without a plan, or your subscription is canceled or not paid, your department account becomes read-only. In read-only mode:

• Your officers can still sign in, view, and export all applicants and data.
• Your officers cannot make changes (for example, to applications, forms, campaigns, or your profile) until you choose a plan or pay.
• Your public profile and application form stay online, so applicants are not turned away.

We do not delete your department's data because a trial or subscription ended. To ask us to delete your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Canceling

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. After that, your account becomes read-only as described above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Next2Respond shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we deem harmful to the App or other users.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
